4th April 2023, JICA’s Sustainable Development and Quality Assurance of Quality of Healthcare Professionals (DQHP)
project held 5th Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) meeting. The chair of the
meeting, Dr. Khamsay DETLEUXAY, Director General of the Department of
Healthcare Rehabilitation facilitated the following objectives:
With Co-chair Prof. Dr. Ponmek DALALOY, the president of the Healthcare Professional Council (HPC), and Mr. Toshio NAGASE, chief representative of JICA.
All participants acknowledged the project's progress last ten months, conducting the 3rd National Examination, issuing initial licenses for those who passed, implementing Professional Internship Programs for Nurses (PIPN) in central and eight provincial hospitals, and issuing full licenses for those who completed PIPN. Meanwhile, the Nursing and Midwifery Board shared the challenges and lessons learned, especially the feasibility and sustainability of PIPN.
Approaching
to the end of the project by the end of 2023, all stakeholders will continue to
collaborate in implementing the registration and licensing system to be
enforced to ensure the quality of healthcare professionals.
